Culpeper Pedestrian Bridge
Taft Construction, Inc. successfully completed the Culpeper Pedestrian Bridge project, a key infrastructure improvement designed to enhance pedestrian safety and connectivity within the Town of Culpeper. The project involved the construction of a new pedestrian bridge spanning active railroad tracks in the downtown area, providing a safe and accessible route for residents and visitors.
The scope of work included the installation of the prefabricated bridge structure, concrete foundations and abutments, accessible approach ramps, and elevator towers on both sides of the bridge to ensure full ADA accessibility. Due to the bridge’s location over active rail lines, the project required careful coordination with railroad authorities, strict adherence to safety protocols, and precise scheduling to minimize disruptions.
In addition to the bridge construction, the project also included the addition of public restroom facilities to serve the surrounding downtown area and nearby community spaces.
Through detailed planning, coordination, and execution, Taft Construction delivered a durable and visually appealing structure that improves walkability, accessibility, and supports the continued growth of downtown Culpeper.
