Taft Construction is actively building projects throughout the region, with a strong focus on educational and public-sector facilities. Our work reflects hands-on management, organized job sites, and attention to detail from start to finish. Below are select projects currently under construction.

Culpeper Middle School
Taft Construction is serving as general contractor for the Culpeper Middle School Renovation & Addition in Culpeper, Virginia. The project includes approximately 180,000 square feet of renovations to the existing facility and 40,000 square feet of new construction, delivering modernized classrooms, upgraded building systems, and improved site circulation. Work is being completed through phased construction to support a safe, fully operational school campus throughout the duration of the project.
Mountain Run Elementary School
Taft Construction is serving as general contractor for the new Mountain Run Elementary School (Elementary School #7) in Culpeper, Virginia. The project consists of approximately 80,000 square feet of new construction delivering a modern elementary school designed to support Culpeper County Public Schools’ growing student population. The work includes full building construction and site development, with a total project cost estimated at $42 million, and is being delivered in coordination with district stakeholders to meet the planned opening schedule of September 2027.


Swans Creek Elementary School
Taft Construction is serving as general contractor for the Swans Creek Elementary School renovation project in Prince William County. The project includes the renovation of approximately 87,600 square feet of existing school space, modernizing classrooms, common areas, and building systems to improve functionality, durability, and the overall learning environment.
Cedar Point Elementary School
Taft Construction is serving as general contractor for the Cedar Point Elementary School renovation and additions project in Prince William County. The work includes the renewal of the existing approximately 86,656 square-foot school building along with targeted additions — such as a new auxiliary gym, walk-in cooler/freezer space, office and storage — and updated interior finishes, utilities, and site work to enhance functionality and learning environments. The project is being delivered in coordination with county school officials as part of the district’s ongoing capital improvements program.


Prince William County Crisis Center
Taft Construction is serving as general contractor for the Prince William County Crisis Receiving Center in Prince William County, VA. The project includes approximately 79,000 square feet of interior renovation, converting an existing facility into a 24/7 crisis receiving center that provides immediate behavioral health stabilization, evaluation, and support services through specialized treatment and observation spaces.
Elizabeth Vaughan Elementary School
The Elizabeth Vaughan Elementary School modernization project consists of the comprehensive renovation and expansion of an approximately 60,463-square-foot elementary school facility in Woodbridge, Virginia. The project includes demolition of outdated classroom wings and the construction of new academic spaces designed to meet current educational standards and improve building performance. The scope of work includes new classroom construction, renovation of existing educational spaces, and upgrades to building infrastructure including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. Additional work includes site improvements, accessibility upgrades, and modernization of core learning environments throughout the campus. Upon completion, the project will provide Prince William County Public Schools with a modernized facility designed to support contemporary teaching methods while improving long-term energy efficiency, safety, and functionality for students, faculty, and staff.


Culpeper County Public Pool
The Culpeper County Public Pool project consists of the construction of a new community aquatic facility in Culpeper, Virginia. The project provides a modern recreational amenity designed to serve residents of all ages with a focus on accessibility, safety, and long-term durability.
The scope of work includes construction of a combined competition and recreational pool with a beach entry, a splash pad, and a bathhouse facility with locker rooms and support spaces. The project also includes installation of mechanical and filtration systems, along with associated site improvements such as pool decks, spectator areas, concessions, and supporting infrastructure designed to accommodate high seasonal use.
Upon completion, the facility will provide Culpeper County with a high-quality public pool designed to enhance community recreation while delivering efficient operations, modern safety features, and a durable, low-maintenance facility for long-term use.
Chrysler of Culpeper Service Addition
The Chrysler of Culpeper Service Addition project consists of the construction of a new 6,000-square-foot expansion to the existing dealership service facility in Culpeper, Virginia. The project is designed to increase service capacity and improve operational efficiency for the dealership.
The scope of work includes construction of the service shop addition, integration with the existing facility, and a full electrical service upgrade to support the expanded operations. Additional work includes modifications to accommodate new service bays, equipment, and supporting infrastructure required for modern automotive service functions.
Upon completion, the project provides Chrysler of Culpeper with an expanded and upgraded service facility designed to improve workflow, increase service capacity, and support continued growth of the dealership.


Graham Park Middle School Renovation
The Graham Park Middle School renovation project consists of a comprehensive modernization of the existing middle school facility in Triangle, Virginia. The project is designed to upgrade aging infrastructure, improve educational spaces, and enhance the overall learning environment for students and staff.
The scope of work includes renovation of classrooms and core educational spaces, along with upgrades to building systems including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing. Additional improvements include interior finishes, accessibility upgrades, and site enhancements to bring the facility in line with current standards and improve overall functionality.
Upon completion, the project provides Prince William County Public Schools with a modernized facility designed to support contemporary educational needs while improving safety, efficiency, and long-term performance for students, faculty, and staff.
Culpeper Pedestrian Bridge
Taft Construction, Inc. successfully completed the Culpeper Pedestrian Bridge project, a key infrastructure improvement designed to enhance pedestrian safety and connectivity within the Town of Culpeper. The project involved the construction of a new pedestrian bridge spanning active railroad tracks in the downtown area, providing a safe and accessible route for residents and visitors.
The scope of work included the installation of the prefabricated bridge structure, concrete foundations and abutments, accessible approach ramps, and elevator towers on both sides of the bridge to ensure full ADA accessibility. Due to the bridge’s location over active rail lines, the project required careful coordination with railroad authorities, strict adherence to safety protocols, and precise scheduling to minimize disruptions.
In addition to the bridge construction, the project also included the addition of public restroom facilities to serve the surrounding downtown area and nearby community spaces.
Through detailed planning, coordination, and execution, Taft Construction delivered a durable and visually appealing structure that improves walkability, accessibility, and supports the continued growth of downtown Culpeper.
